My Blog Title: The untold the retold
In addition, there are also specific history words that we shall know before we start to delve into this timeline.
From [www.cdc.gov]: Flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. Flu can cause mild to severe illness. Most experts believe that flu viruses spread mainly by tiny droplets made when people with flu cough, sneeze, or talk. [https://my.clevelandclinic.org] Source: The flu is an illness you get from the influenza virus. It causes symptoms like head and body aches, sore throat, fever and respiratory symptoms, which can be severe. Flu is most common in winter months, when many people can get sick at once (an epidemic).
From [Wikipedia]: Disease Smallpox: The last naturally occurring case was diagnosed in October 1977, and the World Health Organization (WHO) certified the global eradication of the disease in 1980, making smallpox the only human disease to have been eradicated to date. The initial symptoms of the disease included fever and vomiting. This was followed by formation of ulcers in the mouth and a skin rash. Over a number of days, the skin rash turned into the characteristic fluid-filled blisters with a dent in the center. The bumps then scabbed over and fell off, leaving scars. The disease was transmitted from one person to another primarily through prolonged face-to-face contact with an infected person or rarely via contaminated objects. Prevention was achieved mainly through the smallpox vaccine. Once the disease had developed, certain antiviral medications could potentially have helped, but such medications did not become available until after the disease was eradicated. The risk of death was about 30%, with higher rates among babies. Often, those who survived had extensive scarring of their skin, and some were left blind.
From [https://medlineplus.gov]: Hepatitis is inflammation of the liver. Inflammation is swelling that happens when tissues of the body are injured or infected. It can damage your liver. This swelling and damage can affect how well your liver functions. Hepatitis can be an acute (short-term) infection or a chronic (long-term) infection. Some types of hepatitis cause only acute infections. Other types can cause both acute and chronic infections. From [https://my.clevelandclinic.org] Hepatitis happens when something causes inflammation in your liver. You can spread hepatitis if you have close contact with someone who has the disease. Common symptoms include different types of upper abdominal pain, diarrhea and fatigue. Treatment includes lifestyle changes, medication and a liver transplant.
From [https://my.clevelandclinic.org]: Measles is a highly contagious disease that causes a high fever, rash, cough and red eyes. It can lead to life-threatening complications, like brain inflammation and pneumonia. It’s caused by a virus. Getting the measles vaccine is the best way to prevent getting and spreading measles. From [Wikipedia]: Measles is an airborne disease which spreads easily from one person to the next through the coughs and sneezes of infected people. It may also be spread through direct contact with mouth or nasal secretions.
From [https://my.clevelandclinic.org]: Typhus is a group of bacterial illnesses that cause similar symptoms, like high fever, chills, rash, body aches, cough, digestive issues and confusion. Types include murine (endemic) typhus, epidemic typhus and scrub typhus. You get typhus from fleas, lice or chiggers. All types are treatable with antibiotics. From [https://medlineplus.gov]: Typhus is caused by two types of bacteria: Rickettsia typhi or Rickettsia prowazekii. Rickettsia typhi causes endemic or murine typhus. Endemic typhus is uncommon in the United States. It is usually seen in areas where hygiene is poor, and the temperature is cold. Endemic typhus is sometimes called jail fever. The bacteria that cause this type of typhus are usually spread from rats to fleas to humans. Murine typhus occurs in the southern United States, including California and Texas. It is often seen during the summer and fall. It is rarely deadly. You are more likely to get this type of typhus if you are around rat feces or fleas, and other animals such as cats, possums, raccoons, and skunks.
From [https://www.health.gov.au]: Japanese encephalitis is caused by the Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV). It is spread through bites from mosquitos, which become infected through biting infected pigs and waterbirds. JEV is endemic to parts of Asia and the Torres Strait region of Australia. JEV has now also been detected in humans, animals and mosquitos in mainland Australia.
From [Wikipedia]: Japanese encephalitis (JE) is an infection of the brain caused by the Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV). While most infections result in little or no symptoms, occasional inflammation of the brain occurs. In these cases, symptoms may include headache, vomiting, fever, confusion and seizures. This occurs about 5 to 15 days after infection.
From [https://my.clevelandclinic.orgitis]: Meningitis is an inflammation of the protective layers surrounding your brain and spinal cord (meninges). Bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites and non-infectious conditions can cause meningitis. Symptoms include fever, severe headache, neck stiffness, nausea, vomiting and light sensitivity. From [Wikipedia]: The inflammation may be caused by infection with viruses, bacteria, fungi or parasites.
From [https://my.clevelandclinic.org]: Polio (poliomyelitis) is a disease that can cause flu-like symptoms, brain inflammation and paralysis. Poliovirus causes it. It spreads from person to person through contact with poop or respiratory droplets. Most people have no symptoms or mild symptoms, but some have permanent paralysis. Vaccination is the best way to prevent polio. From [https://www.who.int]: Polio is a highly infectious disease caused by a virus. It invades the nervous system and can cause total paralysis in a matter of hours. The virus is transmitted by person-to-person spread mainly through the faecal-oral route or, less frequently, by a common vehicle (for example, contaminated water or food) and multiplies in the intestine. Initial symptoms are fever, fatigue, headache, vomiting, stiffness of the neck and pain in the limbs.
