My Blog Title: Heatwaves and Impact Phenomena

In earthly physical mass, hydrosphere makes up of about 70%, and continental land mass is nearly 30%. The hydrosphere is the planetary term to mean all water of one planet. The water is the fresh water flow form on the surface and underground, the ocean water, the vaporised form in the atmosphere like fog, cloud and rainfalls, and frozen water in icecaps, icebergs, and snow. The earth's rotation and moon's counter gravity circulates the oceanic current in tidal waves in all the 5 oceans, Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, Arctic and Antarctic. Layers of earth's atmosphere, from 1 kilometer to 500 kilometers above earth surface, and related gravity strength in each atmospheric layers, and earth's spinning movement, makes high pressure and low pressure in the atmosphere system. The wind and cloud move from high pressure to low pressure. At northern hemisphere, wind moves in counter clockwise direction, while in southern hemisphere, winds moves in clockwise direction. Atmospheric pressure system causes different weather pattern in seasonal duration like monsoon and non-seasonal period like typhoon, cyclone, tornadoes and hurricane. Accordingly, in mid-year 2023, the world events of weather phenomena is heatwaves, which have the impact on all life on the planet. We are now in El Niño situation, which means earth temperature is warmer than average temperature at tropical pacific sea surface. The situation indicates serious weather and climatic pattern occurrences.
Naturally, the temperature is different at mountainous areas, at the ice coverage region, at the desert, in the ocean, and on the hillside landscapes. The sunniest spot on earth is Actacama Desert and hottest desert in the world is Sonoran Desert; daytime summer temperature 80°C. According to NASA's (National Aeronautics Space Administration) and NOAA's ( National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration) satellite data, our sun is hotter and temperature on earth has increased about 1.5 °C during this mid-year. The current temperature is historic record which makes earth temperature the hottest after pre-industrial period.
1.5°C hotter is the heatwave phenomena. The heatwave makes ocean temperature warmer, and the coral reef bleaches or becomes pale. This can effect the marine ecosystem, and aquatic wildlife and also the fishery industry. At icy landscape, hotter temperature melts the ice, and causes algae to grow from hibernation, and absorb sun heat. Snow algae is in different color specy like pink, green, red, brown, purple and yellow. Ice reflects sunlight back from the earth, cooling the earth temperature. Heat absorption of algae growth accelerates the icemelt.
Heatwave in atmospheric level evaporates liquid water from the landscape surface, and drought occurs. The vapor condensed and brings about heavy rainfall or flash flood. Droughted area, wildlifes are in danger.
At certain forest condition, heatwave dries the moisture from the wilderness and grassy landscape, and accordingly hotter temperature causes wildfires. Persistent heatwave would affect human health condition in various industries, for instance, tourism, construction, agriculture, textile, and manufactured operations. Workflow and business process would also be delayed or reordered and transactions are more costly. Hotter temperature affects the quality of raw materials and work in process. The society supply chain, delivery, distribution are disrupted from heatwave phenomena.
My article does not mean to propose solution to deal with heatwave phenomenon. Yet nature has natural cure; recent report found that sulfur oxide, released from volcanic eruption at different continents, radiates sunlight from earth to space naturally. We human has also been discovering technology to replicate this natural treatment. Smart surface innovation; for instance sunlight reflection rooftop, forestry management, will have been implemented to curb warmer temperature issues. At droughted location, water catchment from human solution brings gallons of water from different places with the means of truckloads and helicopter collection. Water supply becomes a scarcity during heatwave period, so regulation around the world has been carried out to conserve and protect water sources on the surface and underground, particularly livestock industry and other industrialized operation that could leak polluted chemical into underground.
And at current phase, our society still burns fossil fuel to power infrastructures and logistical transportation, which partly contribute to the greenhouse gas effect from carbon dioxide. Refer to my consulted sources for further research discovery purposes.
